We made this intervention in interior design in a duplex penthouse with a sloped roof, where the ceiling height in the living room, the sunlight that comes in through the big windows and the sloped roof’s structure where the protagonists. To solidify the connection between the kitchen and the living room, a serving hatch was designed, which serves as a direct connection between both spaces. It has a sliding panel in order to avoid noise and smoke going through the kitchen into the living and dining room. In the living space the selected tones for the furniture are of neutral colors so the white paint is able to contrast with the floor and handmade furniture’s wood as well as, of course, the wooden ceiling. In the kitchen, the old cabinets were given a new light and a more modern look. An effort was made to find the exact matching finish as the for the newly projected elements that improve the kitchen’s design and efficiency. The result is a more functional and modern kitchen, with a direct connection with the dining room.
